Assistant Accountant

About the role:

The role requires the candidate to be AAT qualified or equivalen. The use of SAGE 50 and have intermediate Excel. Strong knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Databases is preferred.


PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Raising weekly sales invoices accurately & attaching all relevant documents. • Responsible for the Batching/Matching and Coding Purchase invoices. • Chasing up individuals to ensure they are authorised correctly and in a timely manner. • Controlling and monitoring the authorisation of invoices • Reconciling Supplier Statements. • Producing Supplier payment runs - fortnightly/monthly. • Ensuring all supplier transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in sage. • Dealing with supplier queries via phone and email • Managing the Investigation of discrepancies on quality/price between purchase orders, invoices and deliveries. • Managing company Credit Cards and Expense claims • Verifying all new sub-contractors with HMRC. • Assist with the preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual report and ad-hoc forecasting reports. • Overseeing the day to day activities to TB • Assisting with Month end and Year end accounts • Assisting with Vat Returns • Bank Reconciliations • Various Adhoc items as and when requested
1. The candidate must ideally have at least three years of experience with a strong accounts payable skill set.
2. Strong Excel skills (pivot tables / v look ups), good communication skills and a target driven and hardworking attitude is key.
3. Comply with applicable tax legislation, UK company law and Data Protection Regulations.
