Assistant PR Manager - Maternity cover contract

  • Dates: 1st May 2019 to 28th Feb 2020 (10 month Maternity cover) - dates subject to change
  • To develop, gain acceptance, execute and monitor a public relations plan.
  • To ensure delivery of the agreed consumer PR campaigns and effective handling of the consumer enquiries and complaints service, to a consistent high standard of information and consumer care.
  • To support the work of other departments and to promote the current CRM, web activities and social media marketing programme to maximise PR opportunities.
  • To monitor and analyse mention of products and company in the press, and to achieve a campaign of influence to improve awareness and perception of the company and product benefits.
  • As and when required, preparation of Company action to be taken in relation to any negative matters in the press, social media, broadcasts, www etc. If necessary, liaising with Head Office.
  • To develop, plan, manage and evaluate an agreed programme of sponsorship and event campaigns with the active involvement and assistance of the PR team and other staff as needed.
  • To manage corporate relations, including developing and maintaining contacts with key charities and partners, business and trade media.
  • To predict and monitor risks and issues, and to maintain a crisis management plan.
  • Travel as required, to attend meetings and events nationwide & Europewide (e.g. PR meetings, etc).
  • To evaluate the effectiveness and value for money of the programme, and make recommendations where possible on improvements.
  • To manage other PR team members and external agencies.
  • To manage and monitor PR budget.
  • Helping with any other activities which may be necessary to facilitate the smooth running of the department and business
